I've been going to this Hon's location for 10 years. Seriously, this place is my favourite. Greasy, unapologetic, delicious, cheap authentic Chinese food. Service is quick and efficient, orders taken on iphones, food comes quicker than you can say soy sauce. Must try: Pan fried potstickers, bbq pork (don't forget ginger and green onion sauce - ask), Wun Tun with noodle in soup, soy chicken, spicy deep fried chicken wings.

Beef stirfry. Tasted ok, however the beef to onion ratio was off. Way too many onions. Onion with beef stirfry.

My first image of Hon's was in 1999. Food was dripping with oil all over like a oil spill. Now in 2017, food quality has slightly improved. Not as oily but taste is still a hit and miss (majority the latter). But it's not all bad. Atmosphere is nice. Pretty spacious and the service is curious enough. For take out and AN economical meal.. I'll still say it's workable.

My wife and I went to Hon's with some of our family and friends on Christmas day for lunch. This has been an annual tradition. We ordered a dish that had Shanghai stir fried noodles and asked to substitute for cod instead of beef. The waitress said no problem, and said the sauce would be on the bottom but nothing about it not being stir fried. When the dish arrived it was not stir fried but boiled, flavorless and overall really disgusting. Not at all what we had ordered. We asked the waitress Vivian if we could have it stir fried, and she said no because it would stick to the pan. She also said something about soft noodles and sauce which we didn't quite understand as she made no effort to communicate properly and seemed intent on just brushing us off. We explained politely that it was not what we had wanted and that we didn't want it, to which she said too bad, and she would not do anything about it. I asked to speak with the manager, whose name was Mindy. Mindy said the same thing as the waitress, that we were told it was a soft noodle (which we were not told). I re-iterated that we did not understand that it would be a completely different dish that was not even stir fried and that wasn't explained to us. Now this all may seem kind of petty, and I agree it is, but the Manager was very rude and dismissive in her tone, and reluctant to do anything what-so-ever to re-mediate the situation. In fact she actually said it would be a waste and she would lose money if she did anything. She was speaking loudly and it was embarrassing with our friends and family there. Other guests were looking over and staring wondering what the fuss was about. This is by far the worst customer service I have ever experienced in my life. I could not believe that a restaurant manager would behave this way. She was a rude, unsympathetic creature who had no customer service sensitivity or business sense. My wife was very upset with being talked to in that manner, and I spoke to the manager afterwards and asked that she apologize to my wife, to which she refused and started talking about noodles again. We will never go back to this place again. I would not recommend that anyone else support this place either if this type of customer service is something they condone.
